Stephanie McLeer Activities Director, Generations Senior Living of Berea
Born and raised in New Rochelle, New York, Stephanie is a naturally upbeat and artistic person. She loves coming to work every day because “It feels like I have 90 grandparents,” she says.
As the Activities Director, Stephanie is responsible for creating a lively activities curriculum at GSL Berea. And she’s perfectly suited for the job. A graduate of New Rochelle High School, Stephanie has always been into the creative and performing arts. She has been a dancer since the age of 5, performing tap, ballet, jazz and hip-hop in many recitals and competitions. A one-time camp counselor, she found her niche in the arts and crafts department, which was a perfect fit because Stephanie loves to paint and draw. In fact, she says painting class at Generations has become one of her favorite things to do. “The residents really seem to enjoy it,” she said.
When not actively guiding the resident activities at Generations, Stephanie is a mother of 3 (two girls and a boy) and enjoys spending time with her children — especially at Cedar Point. Cooking is another creative hobby she enjoys, with tacos taking the number one spot as her favorite meal. In her spare time, she operates a cake decorating business called Sweet Creams and dreams one day of opening a little cupcake shop of her own.
But it’s the residents of Generations who get her out of bed every day. “Working here is the most rewarding job I have ever had,” Stephanie said. “I love waking up every day and coming to work.”
