The Importance of Lavender
Lavender is a significant part of both our philosophy and practice at Cypress Hospice. We use lavender for the following reasons:
Lavender has long been associated with meditation, peace and well-being. As we endeavor to with our patients and their loved ones, we use this color as both a reminder of the steps we take together and of quiet moments taken to remember and enjoy a life well lived.
Lavender as an essential oil calms, revitalizes and balances mind and body. This sweet smelling ointment has been shown to help individuals rest, can be used to help alleviate pain, and can help to elevate mood.
Lavender as a scent helps to instill a sense of tranquility. Patients and loved ones often experience fear when time is uncertain. Lavender helps to subtly ease fears and provide an atmosphere of peace.
